Terms of Service
Last updated August 3, 2026
Plain-language terms for using Odhiambo Atieno. They are written to be read, not to be survived — if anything here is unclear, ask and we will explain it.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Odhiambo Atieno (the "Site"), including all articles, courses, videos, newsletters and related services. By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The Site is operated by Odhiambo Atieno. We may update these Terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
2. Who may use the Site
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to create an account or join the newsletter. If you use the Site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for that organisation.
3. Accounts and security
Where the Site offers accounts, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Access
All content on the Site is provided free of charge. Access is granted for the period during which the content is available; we may update or remove content at our discretion.
5. Licence and acceptable use
Content on the Site is provided for your own learning and professional use. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link. You may not resell, republish in full, mirror, or use the content to train a commercial model without written permission.
- Do not share account access with people outside your authorised use.
- Do not scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Site in a way that degrades it for others.
- Do not attempt to break, probe or bypass the Site's security or access controls.
- Do not upload unlawful, infringing, misleading or abusive material where submissions are accepted.
6. Code samples
Unless a snippet states otherwise, code samples published on the Site may be used freely in your own projects, including commercial ones, without attribution. They are provided as illustrations and are not guaranteed to be production-ready, secure or complete for your context — review and test before use.
7. Intellectual property
Except for code samples and third-party material, the text, illustrations, video and design of the Site are owned by Odhiambo Atieno and protected by copyright. Trademarks, product names and logos of other companies mentioned on the Site belong to their respective owners.
8. Third-party links and services
The Site links to and embeds third-party services, including video hosting. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Site and its content are provided "as is". While we take accuracy seriously and correct errors when they are reported, technical writing ages and environments differ. Nothing here is professional, legal, security or financial advice, and we do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the Site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us (if any) or the greater of 100.00 {0}.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Site at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are seriously or repeatedly breached, or if required by law. Sections that logically survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers and liability — continue to apply.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law of your country of residence.
13. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to [email protected] and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
